Consider these passages as you pray concerning your giving to New Hope Messianic Community:

“Let each one give as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion—for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

“Give, and it will be given to you—a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, overflowing, will be given into your lap. For whatever measure you measure out will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).

“For if the eagerness is present, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he doesn’t have” (2 Corinthians 8:12).

“Do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:16).

God loves a cheerful giver, and although tithes and offerings may seem difficult for your pocketbook, your giving is never missed by God. He is faithful and makes sure that all of His blessings flow down from His throne to bless His children. And, because He is generous, His children are generous. In the book of Proverbs we read, “One who is kind to the poor lends to Adonai, and Adonai will reward him for his good deed” (19:17). Therefore, your giving not only helps the poor, but it keeps the lights on and also helps take care of those who labor among us in word and deed.
